January 2020

Belated Happy New Year EVO followers.

The New Year saw a few new lines introduced to EVO with much thanks to Ratnarok Rattery for the gorgeous foundation stock.  Ratnarok was loctated in Aiken SC, but has now moved back to FL - I will miss having such a great breeder so close. After many years of trying unsuccessfully to resurrect my Fawn line, I jumped on the opportunity to take in 3 gorgeous Fawn rats from Ratnarok to start over.  I was also asked if I wanted to take over Sarah's Masked line as she had decided to go in a different direction with her breeding program.  Of course I said YES! I have been interested in having a masked line here at EVO for quite some time and little SuperHero Rats just appeal to me.  There are still a couple of babies from these first pairings available here.

Sarah also blessed me with DownUnder and Silvermane Does.  I lost my first DownUnder line that got from Atlantis Rattery during a shutdown back in 2017, so I am thrilled to have babies on the ground from this Doe to start working with this year.  DownUnder are not particularly special at first glance, they look like normally marked rats...until you check out their bellies!  The markings you see on their backs are replicated on their underside. I just love seeing the gorgeous spotty bellies of variegated DU.  A similar situation happened with my Silvermane/Hairless line, when I got sidetracked with other projects and let my oldest line unfortunately fizzle out.  I have one Hairless Doe from my original line left, I do not know if she is SM or not, but I think its too lake to try breeding her.  Enter a stunning Black SM Doe and Mink SM Buck from Ratnarok who are currently in breeding along with a Black Harley Doe.  The babies from these pairings will be held back for evaluation. 2nd Generation will hopefully be made available for adoption, I can't wait for Silvermane Harley- GORGEOUS!

Since my Hairless Doe is getting up in age, the last new additions from Ratnarok are a trio of the softest, sweetest hairless babies I have EVER had.  I want to just let them snuggle in my neck all day.  I am TOO excited to start working with them and seeing the adorable babies they will produce.

Speaking of Hairless, my Werewolf line is continuing to improve since outcrossing. Now on Gen3, I am seeing wonderful temperament improvement, nice big, clear eyes, and conformation more in line with rat standards.  A litter of Gen3 babies in on the ground, all boys *eyeroll*, both black and mink in color.
