Proud to introduce my new handmade product that has been added to the store - Hardwood Cage Ledges! In Small, Medium and Large. these ledges bring a bit of the wild into your rat's home environment. Aged hardwood, is safe for your ratty to perch on, or satisfy his need to nibble. All mounting hardware is included.

I will be releasing some beautiful Natural Hardwood Cage Ledges later this week- watch out for those! New products will be added as I get inspired, so please check back regularly.

If you need your items shipped to you, you will receive a separate shipping invoice via paypal for your actual shipping costs. I will try to use USPS Flat Rate Shipping whenever possible.
Rainbow Row will be heading up to Richmond Virginia again in December, so mark your calendar if you are interested in attending, or maybe meeting for a pickup along my route. The event will be held on December 2nd, venue to be determined, and pickups can be arranged for my journey back home on December 3rd. I travel down I95 through NC, from Richmond to Charleston SC.
I will have Envigo Teklad Rodent Diet available for purchase, along with some ratty enrichment products.
You can also pre-order food or any of these products.
Here is a link to the Facebook Group that is hosting the event: Richmond Rat Club
Please feel free to join and you will find the event details there. I will be sharing updates on what babies will be available for reservation etc., in the group event, on RROW's FaceBook page and on the Available Babies page.
Here is an open invitation for you to let me know what you would like me to blog about here at Rattery Rattenings. I have tried to organize things a little better with the categories over on the right hand side, and popped the relevant posts under those headers. I welcome you to drop a comment or two on topics you are interested in, no matter what they are as long as they are ratty related. I would also love to receive any pictures and tales you would like to share, to publish under the Adopter Stories section.

I am struggling to find the words to express my feelings today. My heart, my Georgie 2.0, RROW's SpokesRat, King George II passed away peacefully yesterday, September 4th, 2017.
He was my first Harley rat. Once I found out that such an animal existed I wanted one, to love him, and hug him and squeeze him and name him George! The first George I was offered unfortunately failed to thrive, and so a second was offered, and Georgie 2.0 became mine. I loved him at first sight, a tiny little ball of fluff that rode my shoulder on the car ride home from Ohio to South Carolina. It took a while for Georgie 2.0 and I to bond. I was closely bonded with another rat, Paparazzi, and when 'Razzi' passed away suddenly during a surgical procedure, Georgie 2.0 seemed to just know that I needed him to help get over the loss. He had always been a little reserved, but after Razzi's death, he just came to the front of the cage and climbed up my arm to my shoulder. This started to become our thing and he would just sit, and 'be' with me. We enjoyed time watching TV and taking naps together, he became my best bud.
Georgie 2.0 also became the patriarch of my Harley line at RROW, siring many offspring, and passing down his wonderful temperament. I put all of my baby holdback male rats in with Georgie and a couple of other older boys, as a kind of nursery school for weanlings. Georgie had the patience of a saint, teaching baby boys ratty manners, and that Mom's fingers meant scritches and treats. He LOVED head rubs the best. His last cagemates were two of his sons, two of his grandsons, his oldest friend and his oldest friend's son, a naked dwarf!
It would have been his second birthday yesterday. I found him curled up in his favorite spot, I thought he was asleep.
Rest well sweet boy, I love you, and I miss you. Thank you for two amazing years, you were the BEST rat. You have given me sweet memories and stunning offspring to carrying on your name - ROAR King George II
Black eyed Siamese and Burmese have been posted here. Please use the contact form to reserve your babies, they will go quickly!
I finally have available babies pictures up. There are four EXTREMELY sweet and funny pink eyed white boys posted. Don't let the looks put you off, these boys are full of personality and they love to sit on your shoulder or bounce around and play hand games. I really want them to find great homes, they are such a fun bunch.
There is another litter of gorgeous Burmese to come that have just opened their eyes, hopefully they will be posted this weekend.
I will be attending the 8th Annual Florida Rat Fest this year, and while there aren't rats allowed at the venue, I will be transporting a few to be either dropped off on my way down there, or picked up at my hotel. If you are interested in a transport, contact me to discuss details. I will be selling my Silent Wheels.
As anyone who has tried to purchase Harlan/Native Earth products lately knows its next to impossible. Several of us attending the Rat Fest are going to be making a purchase directly from Envigo of Harlan bedding and food products. Envigo requires a $1000 minimum order (this is group order, not individual) which is why we are joining together to place an order. If you are interested in purchasing either bulk bags of food (40lb) or bedding, contact me for details. I will be purchasing quite a bit to have on hand at the Rattery if you want to purchase smaller amounts directly from me.
Small number of babies have been posted today. Hurry, they will go FAST!
